We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Acting Teacher to work Tuesday evenings during TPPA term time.
Tring Park is one of the country’s leading vocational and academic schools, situated in the glorious Hertfordshire countryside just over half an hour from London. The School has 360 boarding and day pupils, aged 7 to 19.
Tring Park Performance Academy is a programme of after school and weekend classes open to children aged 3-19. About the role
Tring Park Performance Academy (TPPA) on Tuesday evenings 6.30pm to 8pm, TPPA term time only. Closing date is the 23rd February 2025 but applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis and we may appoint before the closing date.
Main Duties
Main duties
- Responsible for the overall training of a given class, ensuring the delivery of acting techniques and skills tailored to the specific age group and ability level of the students.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that challenge and motivate students.
- Create a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes creativity, discipline and teamwork.
Performances
- Assist with the preparation, rehearsals and performance of work that will be presented at watching week every term and the annual show.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure that rehearsals run smoothly and that students are well prepared for the performance.
- Ensure that students are fully aware of their roles and responsibilities within the performance.
Other
- Undertake any other reasonable duties that may be assigned by the Associated Courses Manager to ensure the smooth running of the programme.
Person Specification
Essential
- Professionally trained, and ideally performed professionally
- Up-to-date knowledge of current trends and industry requirements
- Experience training professional students, ideally at a vocational level
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
- Understanding of and commitment to child safeguarding in a school setting
