Funding Information
The school offers Scholarships for the Performance Foundation, Musical Theatre, Acting and Commercial Music Courses and Music & Dance Scheme and Dance & Drama Awards for Dancers. We do not offer funding to Tring Park Prep pupils.
The school offers a number of Scholarships each year. These are available to new pupils, existing Year 6 pupils moving up to Year 7 and existing Year 11 pupils entering Year 12. Scholarships will be awarded to those wishing to follow the following courses: Performance Foundation, Acting, Musical Theatre or Commercial Music.
Scholarships will be awarded up to 10% of the termly fees in recognition of talent. Honorary Scholarships are also awarded from time to time. In addition, those pupils awarded a Scholarship may also be granted a means tested bursary, based on household income. Parents of all candidates attending Scholarship auditions will be required to complete an online Bursary Application and provide supporting documentation prior to the scholarship audition if they wish to apply for a means tested bursary. Pupils that are not awarded a Scholarship will not be eligible for a means tested bursary.
These are Government assisted places for talented classical dancers. The school normally has a small number of places to offer each year for pupils aged 11 or above. Awards are not available for those whose family income is above £193,000 for Year 7 – Year 11 Boarding pupils, or above £205,000 for Year 12 – Year 14 Boarding Pupils. They are also not available for those whose family income is above £168,000 for Year 7 – Year 11 Day pupils, or above £183,000 for Year 12 – Year 14 Day pupils.
These figures are the approximate current thresholds and may change for the next academic year. The parental contribution to the fees is determined by means testing on an annual basis, as dictated by the Government. Some additional costs are also paid for by the scheme. Those invited for an audition for a Music and Dance Scheme award will be given further details at the time.
The MDS Funding Calculator is intended for guidance purposes for one aided pupil only. The final decision on the contribution required towards fees will be made by the school on receipt of the completed application form and relevant supporting documents using the latest DFE calculator. If you have any questions please contact our Finance Manager via ray.mccarthy@tringpark.com.
The school offers a number of Dance Awards each year for pupils aged 16 going into Year 12. Awards are not available for those whose family income is above £90,000. If offered an award, the amount of support for fees and maintenance received will be based on an assessment of family income. The income assessment will be undertaken by the school, using nationally set levels and guidance. Those reaching an audition for one of these awards will be given further details at the time.
In exceptional circumstances the school may be able to offer some financial assistance to current pupils whose families have a significant change in financial circumstances.
