We’re looking to appoint a Ballet Teacher for our Classical Ballet Associates (CBA) programme.

About the role
The Classical Ballet Associates (CBA) introduces young boys and girls to the fundamentals of vocational training. The programme complements the student’s individual training with their regular ballet school and gives them an opportunity to work with other talented children who share the same goals and ambitions to have a career in dance.
The successful candidate would be teaching on 6 Sundays per term. The hours of work will be 10am to 4:15pm with a 45 minute lunch break and two 15-minute breaks.
Main Duties
- To teach ballet classes for boys and girls from age 7 – 16 across all levels.
- To teach pointe and repertoire as required.
- To prepare students for assessments and to support them during feedback.
- To write reports on the student’s progress.
- To attend staff meetings, in-service training and conferences.
- Regularly to keep up to date with current training modalities.
- To liaise with administrative and Head of Classical Ballet Associates as necessary.
- Implementation of whole school/staff policies relating to the safeguarding of children.
- To undertake any reasonable additional duties at the request of the Principal.
Person Specification
Essential
- Professionally trained in dance at an elite level, and ideally performed professionally and have up-to-date knowledge of current trends and industry requirements.
- Experience in training professional students, ideally at the vocational level.
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of and commitment to child s.afeguarding in a school setting.
